So you’ve got the basic understanding of how your camera works under control, but now you’re looking to step your game up a notch and really start expanding your technical and creative skills.

Well, Auckland Zoo have their latest round of Intermediate Photography Workshops confirmed for October 15, October 29, and November 12 — all from 9.30am until 3pm.

During the full-day workshop you’ll learn all about metering, bracketing and exposure compensation, focusing, working with light, composition, which filter and lenses to choose, using flash, understanding playback data, colour space, as well as the differences between RAW and JPEG formats. And you’ll be learning all of this while being surrounded by the most beautiful wildlife from around the world — what better subjects to be photographing in order to learn all these techniques?!

To sign up for this course you must be 15 years of age or older, and you’ll need a basic understanding of how your camera works. There is a maximum of 10 participants per workshop, with five participants to a tutor, so you’ll be getting very focused teaching during your time.

To find out more about the costs, as well as booking your spot, head to aucklandzoo.co.nz. Also, as a special offer, if you attend the intermediate workshop you can save 20 per cent on a future session of individual tuition.
