International Spotlight: Olya Kotyk

To keep you in the know with what photographers are exploring around the world, we search the globe for interesting and inspiring photographers to feature in our International Spotlight series. This time around, we talk to Ukraine’s Olya Kotyk.

Picking up a camera for the first time around a year ago, 17-year-old Kotyk decided to teach herself the ins and outs of photography, making the most of her spare time to practice.

In college, Kotyk received a scholarship, which started her on her endeavour to save for her own camera. Two years she was able to make the purchase and immersed herself in the world of photography.

Today, she uses a Canon EOS 600D kit and has plenty of ideas for projects up her sleeve. Check out a selection of Kotyk’s photographs in the gallery below, and visit her 500px account for more of her work.
