The winners of the Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographer’s Amazing Insects Photography Competition have been announced.
The winners of the 2016 Society of International Nature and Wildlife Photographers’ Amazing Insects Photography Competition have been announced.
The winning image — titled Face to Face — was taken by Mario Gustavo Fiorucci, a photographer from La Pampa, Argentina. Mario received a 12-month membership to the society for his efforts.

Phil Jones, CEO of the society, thanks all those who entered, saying, “Mario’s image was chosen as the winner as we felt it captured the beauty of the topic of the competition.”
Two runners-up were also selected from the more than 125 entries. Ludwig Wagner from London was selected in second place, with Simon Tamasa from Essex taking out third place.
