Open for four days between Thursday, November 30, and Sunday, December 3, the exhibition provides a glimpse into the future of contemporary arts practice with many of the students featured going on to enjoy stellar careers both in New Zealand and abroad if past years are anything to go by.

Showcasing 100 contemporary art projects spread across every angle of the school’s four venues, the diverse range of work shares graduating artists’ most refined ideas and insights into contemporary art across the disciplines of painting, sculpture, photography, installation, sound work, design, and multimedia projects.

Featuring the work of graduating students from the Master of Fine Arts, Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours), and Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programmes, the exhibition provides an insight into the challenges and rewards of earning a degree from Elam.

Last year’s Graduate Show marked the launch of an online resource called Elam Artists that records graduates’ achievements and provides a permanent, searchable alumni archive. The 2017 Elam graduates will feature on the site, elamartists.ac.nz/exhibition,  from December 1.

The exhibition is free and open to the public from 10am–5pm, Thursday, November 30 to Sunday, December 3. To find out more about the exhibition, or check out the Elam Artists digital catalogue, head to elamartists.ac.nz/exhibition.
