It’s the first macro lens designed specifically for EOS M mirrorless cameras, and the EF-M 28mm f/2.5 Macro IS STM lens is expanding the imaging possibilities into exciting territories.

With its built-in macro lite, the lens enables you to shoot bright images of small subjects, without worrying about unnecessary shadows. The macro lite surrounds the lens and helps to provide a sense of depth to your shots, which can be tweaked by toggling the lighting modes that restrict light to be emitted from the left side only, the right side only, or to be emitted from both sides.

The lens features hybrid IS technology for stabilization up to 3.5 stops, which becomes especially handy when you’re shooting close-up images — you can get in very close to your subjects as the lens has a minimum focal distance of 13mm, and its shape avoids shadows being cast on your subjects. It’s also got a built-in STM motor for smooth autofocus in both live view and movie modes.
