First winner of The Luka Light Project

Earlier this year we introduced photographer Sandra Henderson and her daughter Luka and The Luka Light Project that Henderson initiated to help families who were going through difficult times.

Luka was diagnosed with a brain tumour, which thankfully was not cancerous and was removed completely, but the experience made Henderson want to do something to help families going through similar experiences. The Luka Light Project involves taking a family portrait and providing the family with something that will keep the memory of happy times alive. Henderson said she wanted to do one per year, and the first winner was drawn as Kelly Bunker. 

Bunker’s daughter Sophie has had a hard start to life, says Henderson, so the photographer has presented them with a photo shoot and a framed enlargement for their wall.
