The country’s biggest annual celebration of photography is asking for a little help from the public to continue developing its completely free programme of exhibitions and events.
For the past 10 years the Auckland Festival of Photography has filled New Zealand’s biggest city with visual stimulation in an always-ambitious, month-long calendar of photographic events and now the event is looking for some fundraising assistance.
Using the local fundraising website Givealittle, users are able to donate whatever amount they choose to the registered charitable trust, with the added bonus of being eligible for a donations tax credit.
In the decade the festival has been running it has jointly presented hundreds of photography exhibitions and events across its curated Signature programme, Talking Culture symposium, open Fringe programme and other special events.
The Auckland Festival of Photography returns again this year, running from May 29 to June 20. If you’re keen to take part you have until the end of the month to register your interest (see the website for details), otherwise keep your eyes peeled for announcements about the 2014 programme in coming weeks.
