In D-Photo issue 90 we talk to Todd Henry about his big win at the Sony World Photography Awards as well as his visual-anthropologist approach to photography.
Todd has spent a lot of time in the Pacific Islands getting to know local communities. This approach has resulted in intimate and authentic photographs, and is one that he extends to his forays into film-making. During his time in Tonga, he got to know deportees from the US, New Zealand, and Australia, resulting in the documentary shared below: Gangsters in Paradise: The Deportees of Tonga.
